SICILY. Entella (?). Punic issues, circa 330-320 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 16.47 g, 2 h). Head of Tanit-Persephone to left, wearing wreath of grain leaves, triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. Unbridled horse leaping up three-quarters to right before palm tree with two date clusters. Basel 559 (this coin). Gulbenkian 363 (same obverse die). Jameson 913 (same obverse die). Jenkins 122-127 (O42/-). SNG Lloyd 1616 (same obverse die). SNG Lockett 1037 (same obverse die). Rare. Beautifully toned and of magnificent Greek style recalling the dekadrachms of Euainetos. Scratches and with some flan faults, otherwise, about extremely fine.
